Before you work out how much money you'll need to raise for your divorce, there are a few ways to get financial and legal support for nothing in return:
Legal aid: This is a subsidy for people with a low income. You are entitled to this assistance if your annual income is less than €13,912 and your assets amount to a maximum of €4,637.
Women's counseling:Here women receive legal and psychological advice and free support during the divorce.
Men's counseling:Here men can get free professional know-how and mental support.
Social institutions: Social institutions such as Caritas, for example, not only provide advice in emergency situations, but often also help with financial problems.
The costs of a divorce in Austria depend heavily on whether it is amicable or contested.

If you have already exhausted all other options and still need money for your divorce, there are several solutions:
If you have collateral that you don't want to sell, you can simply have it pawned and pay the money back later. The old concern about pawnshops with opaque fees is long outdated - today, many companies such as CASHY display their fees for a pawn loan transparently online and are cheaper for a short bridging period than paying in installments with credit cards. Here you can find all reputable providers with a seal of approval from the Chamber of Commerce.
Friendship often ends with money, and yet friends sometimes show understanding where you wouldn't expect it. If you offer to pay back slightly more and enter into a private loan agreement, it can be a win-win situation for both the private lender and you.
If you receive a regular salary and your credit rating is good, you can certainly get a loan from the bank for your divorce. It's best to ask your bank or choose one of the many banks in Austria here.
If your bank won't grant you a loan, it may be prepared to increase your overdraft facility for a limited period.
However, you can also ask your employer for an advance on your salary, which can then be paid back in installments. The prerequisite for this is usually that the employer knows that you will soon be receiving your vacation or Christmas bonus, for example, or that you will be working paid overtime that you can use to make up the advance.
Sell collateral that you no longer need at a flea market, via a platform such as Willhaben or via a commercial buyer such as here: Momox, resell, Auktioneum, e-exchange, Moneyrent, and many more.
